When we think about learning, we often picture children in classrooms or young people preparing for a profession. But as Christians, learning is something we are called to do throughout our lives.
Faith is not something we master once and set aside. Like any meaningful relationship, our faith grows stronger as we spend time with God, learn from Him, and allow Him to shape our hearts.
St. Francis understood this well. Although he inspired countless followers, he never considered himself finished growing in holiness. Each day was another opportunity to listen to God’s voice, serve others, and become more like Christ.
The same invitation is extended to each of us.
Growing in faith doesn’t require extraordinary efforts. More often, it begins with small, faithful habits practiced consistently over time.
This month, consider taking one simple step to deepen your relationship with God:
- Read a few verses from the Gospels each day.
- Spend a few quiet minutes in prayer before beginning your day.
- Learn about the life of a saint whose example inspires you.
- Read a Catholic book or devotional that strengthens your faith.
- Ask God each day to help you grow in wisdom, compassion, and trust.
No matter where you are on your faith journey, remember that God is always inviting you to grow closer to Him. Every prayer, every act of kindness, and every step taken in faith draws us deeper into His love and helps us become the people He created us to be.
