Last week, we reflected on Francis’ devotion to the Holy Spirit as the guide of his life.

There is no doubt that St. Francis loved the Catholic Church and remained obedient to her teachings.

As we have seen, the life St. Francis embraced quickly drew others to him.

Last month, as we celebrated Good Friday, we heard the Gospel account of Jesus’ Passion.

After his time in solitude, Francis began to live fully the life of poverty and humility he had embraced.

Francis’ time on Mount Subiaso became a period of deep discernment.
