Making your Faith part of your legacy

Of course, we can think of what we have created during our time on Earth—our communities, families, homes, businesses, and projects. These are valuable and long-lasting legacies indeed.

Even longer lasting is what is created from the gifts of this lifetime that we entrust to others after we pass. Legacy Giving is the act of including charities and causes that are near to one’s heart in a Will or Living Trust. Such a bequest ensures that the mission of those organizations is forever bound to others’ memory of you.

As Franciscans, our legacy is not material but spiritual: continuing the work of Jesus Christ and his closest follower, St. Francis of Assisi, in missions and parishes throughout the world. Our Legacy Society benefactors join us in this work in perpetuity.

To be sure, it is not always easy to spend time thinking about what might happen after death. Personally, I find comfort in knowing that my legacy will include having cared for the world’s poor and sick, and spreading God’s Word throughout mission and parish lands. My Franciscan Brothers and I would be honored if you joined your legacy with ours.

By remembering Franciscan Mission Associates (FMA) in your Will or Living Trust, your legacy will be tied to that of St. Francis. Your generosity ensures that our work in education, healthcare, and spiritual care continues to grow. Together, we can create lasting changes for future generations in need.
