Forty Lenten Masses
MARCH 5 – APRIL 13
Each year, we mark the 40 days of Lent with acts of fasting, almsgiving, penance, and prayer. During this time, we reflect on our earthly weaknesses and contemplate the sacrifice of Jesus and how it allows us to grow closer to God.
Be remembered in Lenten Masses
As our Franciscan Friars remember you and your loved ones in these 40 Masses, we invite you to reflect on the sacrifices Jesus made for us, and how we can be more like Him. We can ask ourselves:
- Am I patient and kind?
- Do I support the poor and sick as best I can?
- Do I nurture my Catholic faith?
- Who do I need to forgive?
- What weaknesses in my character or my lifestyle will I address?
- Do I receive Communion with a good conscience or do I confess?
- Am I generous?
The gift of Lent
Self-reflection is the gift of Lent.
