Non-cash assets
Provided that you have held them for more than one year, you can donate certain non-cash assets such as real estate to charitable organizations like Franciscan Mission Associates (FMA).
Benefits of donating non-cash assets:
- In most cases, receive a deduction for the full, fair market value of the asset donated
- Avoid capital gains tax and make a larger gift because of this savings
- Bring material aid and spiritual care to people in need as part of your legacy
